Safety review
Why it is needed
A safety review is not a legal requirement in itself, but an effective way to check compliance with, among others, LBE, the ATEX rules and AFS 2023:11 – for example ahead of a municipal inspection, an inspection by an inspection body, an insurance survey or an internal audit.
What the service is
A safety review gives a quick, clear picture of the plant's status against the applicable regulations. We go through what you ask for – risk analysis, allocation of responsibilities, documentation, design verification, and inspections and checks – and deliver a report with a prioritized list of actions. The review is scaled to your needs, from an overview to a detailed review.

Regulations that set the requirements
- LBE (2010:1011) and FBE (2010:1075) – the central legislation on flammable and explosive goods and on the authorities' responsibilities, permits and designated managers (föreståndare); the basis for what a safety review checks compliance against
- MSBFS 2020:1 and MSBFS 2023:2 – MCF's regulations on the handling of flammable gas and flammable aerosols (MSBFS 2020:1) and of flammable liquids (MSBFS 2023:2, from 2024-01-01) respectively; which one is relevant depends on what the plant handles
- SRVFS 2004:7 – regulations on potentially explosive atmospheres when handling flammable gases and liquids
- AFS 2023:10 – the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations on risks in the work environment, including chemical risks and potentially explosive atmospheres caused by dust
- AFS 2023:11 – the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations on the safe use of work equipment, including pressure equipment
This is a guide and does not replace checking the current consolidated legal text, permit conditions or municipal practice.
