About me

Process safety grounded in everyday industrial reality
My name is Mathias Lindqvist and I run PSL AB. I help industrial companies understand and manage risks in processes and plants, with a focus on risk assessments, HAZOP, ATEX zone classification and technical documentation.
I have worked in industry since 1997. My background covers process operations, electrical and instrumentation work, maintenance, ATEX and process safety – from hands-on work in plants to regional safety assignments.
This has given me an overall understanding of how technology, operations, maintenance and safety need to work together.
From hands-on plant work to process safety
My experience covers the installation, inspection, calibration and troubleshooting of instruments, as well as technical documentation, pressure equipment and design documentation for piping installations. I have also worked with ATEX issues, asset integrity and process safety.
In later roles I have worked with process hazard analyses, safety-critical systems, incident investigations, safety audits and training, and supported organizations in regional process safety matters.
Through PSL, I bring both perspectives: an understanding of the plant's details and the ability to put them in a wider risk context.
How I work
I start by understanding your question, the plant's conditions and how the result will be used. Dialogue with the people who work in the plant is an important part of the assignment.
In analyses and documentation, I place great weight on clear premises, traceable assessments and well-defined conclusions. It should be clear what the documentation shows, which assumptions lie behind it and what needs further investigation.
The goal is not just to deliver a report, but to give you a useful basis for decisions, priorities and continued safety work.
Direct contact throughout the assignment
When you engage PSL, you have direct contact with me – from the first conversation and the scoping of the assignment to the review of the results.
I value close collaboration, clear communication and the opportunity to discuss technical questions along the way.
What do you need clarity on?
Are you planning a new installation or a change to your plant? Do you need to carry out a risk analysis, review the zone classification or update technical documentation?
Tell us briefly about your needs, and we will have a first conversation about scope and next steps.
